Environmental education: The world of honey and bees at your fingertips.

Discover the world of bees and beehive products

A Redolada are a small company located in the town of Artosilla, in La Guarguera. The human part of it is formed by Álvaro and Azpe, a couple of biologists who find in beekeeping and environmental education our way of living and in Artosilla the place to do it. The animal part is our bees, thousands and thousands of them distributed in apiaries throughout the Guarguera valley and its redolada.

We have been working with bees since 2013, first as a hobby, then, little by little, as a business. In 2019 we have taken another step to unite our passions: bees and environmental education. We have inaugurated the “A Redolada” Beekeeping Classroom, where we offer guided tours and workshops to get to know the bees better.

What we propose here is to go to Lasaosa to offer you a unique workshop: “Discover the world of bees and products of the hive.” We want to share with you what we have learned about bees, a world that has fascinated us (how they organize in the hive, how they communicate, what they feed on, how they reproduce…). We will also talk about the special relationship that humans have had with bees for thousands of years, what ancient beekeeping was like and we will explain how we work today, what are the main problems we face and the importance of bees as pollinators. All this in an interactive and dynamic way, through photos, videos, an observation hive … children will enjoy a lot and adults will discover a fascinating world.

Finally we will show you some products that can be obtained from the hive and we will do a tasting of them, to keep a good taste in our mouth: Five or six very different types of honeys, try the propolis, pollen, etc.
